  • Can a different brake width be purchased separately and how much would it cost?

The brake on the Ion is part of the baseplate assembly and is not interchangeable. Thank you for your inquiry

  • How do you pick a brake width? Is it what ever size is > the waist measure of the ski?

HI,  You choose the brake width according to your ski waist size. For example if your skis have a waist of 115mm then I would recommend a brake width of 115. If your skis are 120 then I would go with 130mm brakes, and so on.

  • What brake size is recommended for the synapse 101?

I would recommend the 100mm brake width. If needed you can gently bend the brakes to clear the ski.  Cheers

  • I just purchased new skis and boots for the season. I picked up the La Sportiva Sprectre 2.0 and Atomic Backland 85. I am wondering if you think the Ion 10 or 12 would be a good binding for me?

Hi,  Thank you for your inquiry. Setting your DIN is a personal preference that is different to each person and there are many factors to consider.
The Ion 12 has a larger range with a DIN setting of 5-12 and the Ion 10 with a range of 4-10.  In order to properly set your DIN, I would recommend visitng your local dealer and have an expert fit you properly according to your weight, height, skiing ability and preference.  I hope that helps
